Returns & Exchanges Policy

We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase from The Ballet Box. Our returns policy is designed to be fair and transparent, complying fully with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Return & Exchange Window

  • Standard Items: You have 14 days from the date of delivery to return or exchange clothing, shoes and certain accessories.
  • Faulty & Defective Items: In accordance with the CPA, if an item is found to be defective, you may notify us within 6 months for a repair, replacement, or refund depending on availability. This excludes issues caused by wear and tear, misuse, or improper care.

Condition of Goods

  • Clothing: Unworn, unwashed, and in their original condition with all tags and packaging intact. Items showing signs of wear, damage, makeup etc. will not be accepted.
  • Shoes: In original condition, and returned in the original shoe box. We also strongly recommend trying shoes on a clean, carpeted surface; shoes with marked soles or stitched elastics/ribbons cannot be returned or exchanged.

Items Not Eligible for Return

For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on the following unless they are faulty:

  • Hosiery, tights, underwear, and socks (if packaging is opened).
  • Accessories such as hair items or intimates.
  • Sale or clearance items (unless defective).

Important to Note (Refunds, Exchanges, Return Shipping)

  • Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method used (such as PayFast). Refunds may take 5-10 working days to reflect, depending on your bank.
  • Original delivery fees are non-refundable, unless the item is faulty. 
  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the replacement item costs more, the difference must be paid. If it costs less, a store credit or partial refund may be issued.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

How to Request a Refund/Exchange

Please contact us before returning any items:

  • Include your order number/order ID, reason for return, and photos if the item is faulty.
  • Once approved, courier the item back to us. We recommend a trackable service; Ballet Box is not liable for returns lost in transit.

Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.
